As it was a day off, I got busy cleaning and organizing the house.

I had just finished everything, my brother calls me and says: Hello sister, I am coming with my wife to visit you since it has been a long time since we met.

It was a normal conversation like any other, and after we finished the discussion and I hung up, I felt a great deal of embarrassment. I went to the kitchen to prepare something for them, but there was nothing I could serve you with.

After opening all the drawers and looking around, I could only find a few oranges.

This calmed me down a bit, I squeezed them and prepared two glasses of their juice, one for my brother and one for my sister in law.

I heard the knock on the door and hurried towards it, but I was surprised and saddened when I saw that with them was also my brother’s mother in law, the mother of his daughter in law.

It was the first time she was visiting my house and I only had two glasses of orange juice to welcome her.

After they sat down and got comfortable, it was time to serve the rent.

Being in a difficult situation, the only solution that came to my mind was to give my brother a glass of water while pretending to spray him.

As for my brother’s daughter in law and her mother, I gave one glass each with orange juice each.

That’s what I did, I gave them a glass of orange juice and the moment I handed the glass of water to my brother, I addressed him saying: Brother, for you I thought I’d serve you a spritz, since I know you enjoy it a lot and you like this drink since you were little.

He was a bit surprised to be honest by what I just said, he didn’t react anyway and just smiled. He took the glass, he wished me health and drank it. He probably realized it was water.

At this moment, the mother of my brother’s daughter in law addressed me saying: Daughter, please, can you fill me a glass with spritz as I also like that drink.

I stood in front of them very embarrassed and I didn’t know what to answer and how to act, but at this moment my brother intervened and took me out of the situation saying: I’ll go and prepare, sister, while you sit down and talk together.

So we did, I sat down and he went to the kitchen.

After a few moments, we heard a noise as if something made of glass was broken, and at this moment the brother comes and says to the mother in law: I’m sorry, the glass with the last sprite that was left fell from my hand.

I’m going to a store near here and buy a bottle. She refused and told my brother that she was not needing to do something like that, she made do with orange juice.

After a pleasant conversation, it was time for them to leave and we said goodbye to each other.

After taking a few steps, the brother turned back, hugged me, and secretly put some money in my pocket so as not to embarrass me, and said loudly: Don’t forget to clean up the sprite I spilled on the floor, I left it uncleaned in a hurry.

I hughed him tightly, and we embraced lovingly. Lesson: It may happen that you are in a more favorable position than the other, and when this happens, use that position to help people who are in a difficult situation.

Do good and help someone in need whenever you can and don’t think you’ll look better by embarrassing someone else.
